Whenever you have a need for something, what you desire has already been created.

If You Need A New Client

If you need a new client, there is already someone out there who needs what you provide. Now your job is to put yourself in front of your potential clients, which means that you need to go out and be seen. You might choose to give a presentation to your community, network at a few business gatherings, speak at an upcoming fundraising event, or be more involved in social events in the city or town you live in.

If You Need More Money

If you need more money, there are already opportunities available to create that money. The first key is to nurture a more positive atmosphere and attitude toward money, so that income opportunities can become more visible to you. You need to stop complaining about how expensive things are (we’ve all done this from time to time!), and stop sending bad vibes to the people you owe money to (everyone from your cell phone company to the company that provides gas for your car). Also, be open to taking a work opportunity that you have never considered before. It just might be the fun path for your money to reach you!

If You Want To Pay Off Debt

If you want to pay off debt, the first thing to do is to stop shaming yourself for the debt that you are in. Yes, the debt is there, but it doesn’t mean that you are a bad person. As you prepare to pay off the money you’ve borrowed, it’s important to have a clear idea of how much you owe, and to be grateful for the creditors who provided that money to you. Then be open to all of the creative ways that you can find money to start paying down your debt. According to Universal law, if you have debt, there is already a way to pay it off.

If You Need New Clothes

If you need new clothes, trust that they are on their way to you, and then make space for your new garments. Clear out an area in your closet, and do some in-person or online “window-shopping” to get an idea of what styles you’d like to wear. You may end up paying money for your new clothes, or they may arrive as a gift! (It’s always a good idea to be open to going to a clothing swap with friends, just in case your clothes are waiting for you there….)

If You Need A New Car

If you need a new car, the car you’ll be driving already exists or is about to get assembled. Now it’s your job to decide what kind of helpful service or product you’ll provide to other people in exchange for the money to buy the car. Or, maybe things will work out so you won’t even have to pay money for the car! Someone may gift it or loan it to you, or you’ll win one. Until it appears, start dreaming about the car you’d like to drive, the color you’d like it to be, and the where you’ll drive to. (Will you take a 2-week road trip, or will this be the vehicle that hauls copies of your books to book signing events?)

We’re moving to Maui!

BIG NEWS:
DYLAN AND I ARE MOVING TO MAUI!

In 2013, I wrote a journal post outlining more than 2 pages worth of things I desired in my life, all written in present tense.

On the list was:
“I live in a brightly (naturally lit) home, with sunny views, an outdoor patio with fruit trees and vegetable gardens. It’s completely private, calm, and I’m inspired at this home.” I also wrote down that the home has hardwood bamboo floors.
While I wasn’t specifically clear about the location of this house, I always kind of expected that the comfortable home environment in my description would to be closer to the Mediterranean Sea, closer to Italian gelato, German flower fields, and French cafes. Many of you are aware that I have desired to live on the European continent for years now, but life hasn’t yet moved in that direction. At the same time, I also trust in the timing of every opportunity in my life, and am especially open to opportunities that I haven’t even dreamed of.

And I was just given an opportunity I’ve never dreamed of!

Hawaii didn’t show up as a possibility for our next home until very recently, when all of a sudden, it became the EASIEST move for us to make.

Now Dylan and I will living on Maui beginning August 2017!

~ We have our tickets booked.
~ Once we move, we have a house waiting for us near the North Shore of Maui. It has EVERYTHING in the description of my ideal environment from back in 2013– papaya trees, trumpet flowers, an outdoor patio, and even bamboo flooring!
~ I will be able to grow vegetables, fruit, and flowers on this property, and reengage with plants in a way that I haven’t been able to at my current home.
~ Charlie the dachshund (the dog who opened my heart to little animals in a whole new way last year) will be living with us on Maui, and he will be such a good influence for Melon the mini dachshund as she adjusts to her new environment.
~ Since Dylan grew up on Maui, we have a community of friends and family already built in.
~ My little brother and brother Monks live just a couple Islands over, and I’ll be able to visit with them more often with a home base in Hawaii.

As with every life adjustment, I also recognize that I’ll have some opportunities to grow:
~ As an “Earth girl” who loves the smell of dirt and trees, I’ll need to get more comfortable in the water (currently, I rely on a pool noodle to hold me up while I snorkel, and I’m sometimes nervous when it comes to taking those first steps into the waves.) So, I gotta work on that.
~ I get to test if the business I’ve built can thrive no matter what location I reside in. Years ago, I set the intention to be location independent so that I could move anywhere that life pointed me to. I’ll still be training entrepreneurs over the phone, and I’ll also host some live events in Hawaii. It’s my hope to connect to conferences happening in the Hawaiian Islands, so that I can come in as a speaker to train on Turning Strangers into Paying Clients in 10 Days, Healthy Sales and Healthy Sales People, and several other presentations that I offer.
~ As I pack up, I will condense my material belongings into what can fit into a few boxes and a few suitcases. It means that I’ll be looking for loving new homes for many of my possessions (like my bistro table desk and some antiques), and I’ll also be selling the larger pieces of my artwork I’ve made, which should remain in a climate with lower amounts of humidity.

In preparation for the move, I’ll be taking many nostalgic tours through Washington State in the next couple months so that I can revisit special moments from my time growing up here – everything from “visiting Grandpa and Grandma’s house,” and eating at the Antique Sandwich Company with my Mom.

A huge thank you to Dylan (along with his family and friends), who are the connection to this passion fruit and rainbow filled opportunity in the middle of the Pacific ocean.

Once, I was convinced that I needed to fly to Los Angeles to attend a conference that I knew would attract many ideal potential clients.

But….nothing seemed to be working out. The conference organizers didn’t need any more volunteers at the event in exchange for free entry, the money for my flight and hotel didn’t seem to be there, and I was frustrated at how things were unfolding.

Going to Los Angeles did not seem to be the “path of least resistance,” but yet I couldn’t shake the thought from my mind….until this helped me make my decision:

IFullSizeRender (14) have a slightly sunburnt nose, after a whole day out on the boat. My boyfriend and I celebrated 9 years together with a trip up to Seattle on the water. We went past the houseboats and University of Washington campus, stopped for fish, fries, and a Caesar salad at Ivar’s (I was too hungry to take a photo), and then jetted across the water to waterfront Kirkland. This trip included so many of the things I love – exploring new areas, staring at waterfront homes, visiting new cafes, and riding roller coasters (that’s what it feels like to me every time we hit big waves).

I found myself being very pulled to the big homes with the immaculate lawns and waterfront views, especially those on the Eastern side of Seattle, and Mercer Island. It’s not that I want to own one (I keep my life very mobile, so that I can travel on short notice), but I felt a pull to be in the presence of these beautiful structures.

It made me think about many of the possible thoughts that could go through a person’s mind when they stare at a side of an Island where BILLIONS of dollars worth of houses sit on their foundations:

1. “I’ll never be able to afford to live in one of those homes, because it costs so much. I’m jealous of rich people. It’s unfair that they get to live in that home, and I don’t.”

Or….

2. “Each of those homes provides a lot of monetary opportunities. Infact, money streams through each house every day. The people who built these houses were paid, and so are the gardeners who sculpt the gorgeous lawns, the housekeepers and cleaners, and the people who manufacture the parts to maintain the house after it’s been constructed.

The people who live in these homes likely have plenty of money to hire entrepreneurs for services such as health and nutritional guidance, counseling, coaching, dance lessons, pet care, house sitting, and financial services. These hillsides of homes represent endless opportunities for entrepreneurs.”

Or….

3. (This is the thought that I have had most recently) “There is an aspect of this lifestyle, particularly the beauty of high-end homes, which I want more of in my life. This desire makes me think about how can I spend more time in homes like these. Also, how can I bring the qualities of these homes into my own living environment?

I think it’s time to start constructing a tea light garden in my back yard, and to invest in building my own oasis….”

Treasure:

A concentrated source of riches that is about to be uncovered.

“So in essence, you help people become flowers in their business, and then they attract clients like flowers attract bees.”

The Hindu Swami spoke from across the cafe table with a gentle curiosity about my work. He had just shared a beautiful metaphor for what I was doing with my clients, and I was hooked by this idea. Yes, that truly was the energy behind my work.

I had only just met this Swami in person. The days prior to this, I had roamed the monastery while dressed in colorful Indian saris, and had absorbed everything I could from chance meetings with monk after monk after monk. Breakfast at this open-air café was now our opportunity to get to know each other. Another young monk who was 2 years into his monastic path sat in his white flowing robe, and quietly listened to all that I was sharing about my life. The younger monk was my little brother, who I had held many times in his adorable baby years. He was the tie to a very new family connection that had brought me to the monastery. The seasoned Swami, with his long wavy beard, marigold colored robe, and grey hair tied in an offset topknot, now wished to get to know his new “little sister.”

At that point in my life, I was several years into my journey as an entrepreneurial woman. I was in my mid-twenties, had owned my own business for 5 years, and was extremely passionate about my work. I worked a lot, mostly because I had a business that was based on doing what made me most happy.

When the Swami asked about my work, I immediately began sharing about my services supporting entrepreneurs and innovative companies. I shared my love of marketing and engaging with potential customers, and how I treasured being a business owner, because it gave me the flexibility to passionately work until late into the night, or to take 2 weeks off to travel. Just as I had built a career that I adored, I also wanted my clients to build their businesses in a way that was pleasurable for them, like savoring a long meal in Europe. I wanted making money to feel like bliss.

At the time of our conversation, I was also in the process of breaking out of the thought patterns of poverty, which had held me in a certain stage of business for a while. That year, I had begun to feel the strength of my work, and was tasting a kind of success that I had previously thought was impossible. I was earning thousands more than I ever had, and was navigating the fragile balance between my leftover mindset of a poor girl, and the mindset of a wealthy woman. Around that time, I had started to spend my days absorbing the thoughts of some of the masterful teachers of wealth, so that I could learn how to exist like they did. I had a feeling that my visit to the monastery would let me uncover more beautiful forms of treasure.

The Swami listened to me describe how I assist my clients in creating beautiful businesses that easily pull opportunities and income to them. When he translated my description into the imagery of a gorgeous flower drawing bees to it, I began to consider the depth of the energetic principles that let a flower grow, and the energy that welcomes clients and money to our businesses.

love1

Interestingly, I already had a long history working with plants by the time I visited my monk brothers. From age 16, I was deep in the dirt and the lush greenery of plants, having worked at a plant nursery, and in colorful dahlia fields. I had spent a year in the woods studying medicinal plants, and worked on landscaping projects during my summers between years in school. With that existing familiarity, my mind began panning over the parallels between businesses and blossoms. When nestled in the right conditions, a flower thrives and is able to exchange nourishment as bees are drawn to it. When an entrepreneur creates nourishing conditions around her own business, a company can grow and attract clients and money with the same kind of ease.

Tall Vashon Sunflowers

The Swami went on to share that the monastery itself worked in this way, where people were drawn to the beauty and bountiful energy of the grounds and the work of the Monks, just as bees were drawn to a flower. The monastery landscape even looks like a flower, with hills of foliage and fragrant blossoms that sink down to the very center of the property, where you’ll find a central circular pool that is fed by waterfalls.

While I personally understood flowers quite well, I realized that there was one component of the flower and bee relationship that I was untrained in, and that was the bee. Conveniently, it turned out that several of the monks used to tend to beehives, and they observed the habits of these little winged creatures. The Swami explained some of the patterns of bees, which are the partners of flowers. Scout bees, as he told me, are the bees who travel far outside of the safe realm of the hive to explore new territory, and to search for nourishment. They risk trying new things for the first time, just like our adventurous first few customers. Our job when mirroring a flower would be to grow a business in alignment with natural principles, to emanate beauty, and to attract our first customers who are similar to scout bees. If we then provide a nourishing service or product to those first customers, the message of our work spreads from there.

The heavenly hour we spent at this café became one of those scribble-on-your-napkin moments in my life. I wrote notes about the energetic aspects of entrepreneurship, becoming comfortable with money, and trusting in natural patterns to grow my business. Upon leaving our seats at the cafe, I lovingly tucked this café napkin into my bag for safe-keeping. Whenever I re-read those notes, I feel calm, with an electrical excitement that runs through my core. It’s as though my body confirms over and over again that this process is true. Today I use this simple and elegant approach to draw in customers and money, and I pass these ideas along to my clients.

What I learned that day with the Swami, and what I’ve been experimenting with ever since then, is something that I’m very excited to now pass on to you.

A Message From Ava:

Ava behind pink lily smallRecently, I’ve been receiving a massive amount of requests from people who would like to pre-order the book that I’m writing
. As of January 2017, I have written 65,000 words, have mentors guiding me in the final steps, have chosen my editor, and am working on getting the book out into the world. For the past 2 years, I have also been trained in book marketing from the man behind the success of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and Rich Dad, Poor Dad. His publicity coaches are getting me ready for television and radio, and I’m very excited for what’s next.

For those of you who wish to support the book in this phase of creation, you can when you pre-order A Woman’s Treasure. When you pre-order, you will also have immediate access to an online training. In this training, I shared guidance from the book, and several of the things I wrote on that napkin after meeting with the Swami.

Pre-order the book (paperback) and receive immediate access to the recorded training

You can order One Book + Training for $35

Or choose to order a Supporter Package, which includes 10 Books + Access to the training for 10 people. If you order the Supporter Package, the 10 books will be mailed or hand-delivered to you in one shipment once they are published, and you can then gift them to friends, family or clients.

DSC_0004

This book is about how you can grow a business that is a concentrated source of nourishment for your clients and customers. Your business becomes so beautiful to them that they can’t take their eyes off it. And that’s when the money and opportunities stream to you.

The final release date of this book is not yet established, but I expect it to be published sometime in 2017.  Also, “A Woman’s Treasure: Grow A Business Where Making Money Feels Like Bliss” is the long-standing working title. The title may change with publication, but the essence of the book will remain the same. The exact price of the book itself has not yet been established, which is why pre-ordering it now includes both the training and the book. At a later time, the book by itself will be made available for pre-order as a standalone product, at its final cost.

Also, for those of you who want to go even deeper into the processes in my book, I have a private mentoring program for entrepreneurs called “Tapping The Bank of the Universe.” It’s all about your energetic connection to money, and also includes my practical business guidance so that you can welcome in more customers and income into your life. If you’d like more details about this program, please email me at Support@AvaWaits.com, and we can talk more.

Enjoy!

Is becoming more magnetic something you’ve been curious about? Do you want to be the person who walks into a room and easily magnetizes people, opportunities, and potential clients to you?

If so, here are several ways that you can become more alluring and more magnetic in your business and in your life:

Geneva cobblestone road

1.  Let your personality come through all of your professional projects.  Write your articles with personality, have photos taken that accentuate who you are, and create a business brand that is a blend of the things you love. When your personality is woven into your business, it helps attract clients and colleagues who are a really great match to you.

2.  Be a little mysterious, especially in your marketing.  If you’re working on a long-term project, share little pieces of the project along the way, without giving everything out until you’re ready to unveil the final project. Hint at what your audience can expect next.

You’ve likely noticed that I’ve been sharing little aspects about the book I’m writing, like some of the content, and working title (A Woman’s Treasure: Grow A Business Where Making Money Feels Like Bliss), long before the book itself is published and available for sale. You can do the same thing in your own marketing, and when you do, it will give your audience something to look forward to.

3.  Activate a more alluring and attractive energy. There is this thing that I have been practicing with my own energy for about 12 years now, and though it’s hard to exactly describe what it is, I feel that’s it’s been an important part of drawing in business opportunities, along with many personal opportunities.

I’m writing about this energy more extensively in my book, so you’ll have a chance to go even deeper into this at a later time. For now, I’ll do all that I can to describe how this energy feels. It’s like sending out a blanket of love to the people around me, while also feeling more confident within myself. When I activate this part of my energy, I feel as though I am floating and gliding through life. I feel more graceful, and elegant. My jaw relaxes, while the rest of my body becomes taller.

This energy can be used in several situations, and I’ll sometimes activate it if I am feeling protective of myself, like when I’m near a person who makes me a little uncomfortable or cautious. I also activate it when I am feeling open and receptive to meeting new people, and being involved in new opportunities. Even when I was romantically single, I would use this energy to catch the attention of men who I thought were cute. As you can see, it works on many levels.

There is also another side to being magnetic, which is about gently repelling what you do not want. I believe that it’s just as important to use this aspect of your magnetism. Otherwise, you may end up stuck with an overburdening amount of business projects, or clients who you don’t feel aligned with. Work becomes a chore if you say yes to everything, and if you go against your intuition and make business decisions that don’t feel right to you.

One way that I gently and purposefully repel people is by being very clear about my ideal clients in my website and marketing materials.  Here is a description about who I believe are my ideal, as well as my non-ideal, clients:

Ava on boat with scarf“I choose to work with clients who are dedicated, ready, and extremely excited to receive the amazing professional and personal rewards that are waiting for them.

I find that this type of person makes the swiftest progress. Our decision to work together must come from a place of happiness, and I trust you to notice if we are a great fit. Please watch a few of my videos to see who I am.

Because I am dedicated to supporting the clients who are a divine match in this coaching relationship, I do not work with everyone who requests to work with me.

Here’s how you’ll know if you are an ideal client:

~ You love to laugh, and approach all of our appointments with a positive mindset.

~ The way we met unmistakably guided you to me. You may have asked for more clarity and direction in your business, or a coach, and then we were brought together.

~ You are spiritual, but you are still playing in some mass consciousness mentality. You’re often getting dragged into overwork, and you know this isn’t going to keep you happy in the long run.

~ You pay your payments on time, and feel pleasure when you pay them.

~ You hold to your commitments, because you know that if you stop halfway through, it allows others in your life to back out of their commitments to you.

~ You don’t want your life or business to be a cookie-cutter clone of everyone else. You know there is more out there, and you are ready to be unique.

~ You are open to coaching and suggestions that may move you outside of your comfort zone.

~ You are ready to grow.

~ You wish that you had more time for yourself and your personal growth.

~ You are ready to be adventurous. For you, this may mean more opportunities to travel. You are also ready to be more adventurous in your business, and step into the vision you’ve been dreaming about.

I am very particular about the clients I choose to work with privately, and I’ve noticed that non-ideal clients usually share a set of common traits.

Non-ideal clients who are not a match for my support tend to:

~ Complain about the “bad economy,” and make excuses that keep them from getting things done.

~ Blame others for their problems, without taking personal responsibility.

~ Don’t do their homework and the tasks that they are asked to do.

Now that we’ve explored becoming more magnetic, I hope that you’ll use some of these ideas to attract what you desire, and to repel any opportunities that don’t feel like a good fit for you.

Black hat and black carWishing you a lovely start to your week!

I’m just about to finish my work and writing retreat near Los Angeles. Being away always helps me to get clear on my next priorities, and I’ve set a few intentions while on this journey. This is one big intention for the coming year:

I’m looking to speak at more charity fundraising events in 2015.

Speaking at fundraising events has always felt like a very meaningful way for me to participate in society, and I love coming into events to share inspiring stories, and to assist in generating donations for organizations that are doing a lot of great things for the earth and humanity.

If you are on the planning committee for charity fundraising events this year, or know someone who is helping to organize a fundraising gala, please connect with me at Support@AvaWaits.com. I’d love to talk about coming in as your speaker (or potentially an emcee) at the event.

For speaking, I’m more than happy to co-design a speech that will be relevant to the event, and some of the topics I am excited to share more about are:

* Being an example of wealth
* Making money in a way that feels like bliss / How happiness attracts wealth
* Creative business marketing
* Following your passions and designing the professional life of your dreams
* Exiting poverty

In the past few years, I have spoken at women’s events and financial companies, and was invited to give the keynote speech at a United Way fundraiser for women’s education.

As for locations, I’m most easily available for events in the Olympia & Lacey, Washington areas, and the Seattle area. I’ll also be on Maui for 2 weeks in June. Other travel arrangements can definitely be made for states outside of Washington, as well as international events.

Here is a link to my YouTube channel, where you can get a sense of my presentation style. https://www.youtube.com/user/AvaCWaits

If you or someone you know is looking for a speaker, feel free to reach out by emailing Support@AvaWaits.com.

And please pass this email along to all of the fundraising organizers you know.

Thank you,

What I do on boring afternoons: Lounge around and make quirky photos on my iPhone.

What I do on boring afternoons: Lounge around and make quirky photos on my iPhone.

Not long ago, in the middle of a weekday, I was feeling restless and completely bored. It was pouring rain, so I didn’t want to go on a walk, and it was unlikely that I could arrange a social get-together with friends on such short notice.

I felt completely stuck and very bored.

Then I realized something.

Everyone, in every profession (from entrepreneur to president to waitress), in every corner of the earth, probably has boring days like the one I was having. Even the busiest of business owners likely experience afternoons where they don’t know how keep themselves occupied. At the base of our lives, we all have human experiences, like boredom and bliss.

I started thinking about what in my own life will truly change when I reach my own version of “success.” It’s highly likely that many of the things that make up the base of my life will actually be the same. I will still have friends (even if they are different friends than those I have now), family, and my sense of home (no matter where I geographically live). I will make delicious and healthful meals every day, and go on walks. I also imagine that from time to time, I will still clean toilet bowls, even when I have a house cleaner (because I kind of like cleaning toilet bowls).

Even when I “make it big” in my industry, I will probably have another (or many more) boring afternoons. Knowing this helps me take a little pressure off myself.

It also made me realize that if the base of my life is likely to stay fairly constant, I am actually very close to what I consider to be my “successful life.” Success is a lot like my current life, with a few additional desirable experiences added onto it. We all define success differently – for you it may be based on a certain income amount, an experience, or a certain achievement. In case you’re curious, I’ve listed out my own personal definition of “success” at the bottom of this article.

You are also very close to your own version of success! (Exciting, right!?!) It’s likely that your basic experience of being human will still be there for you, to support your new experiences and impressive achievements.

Takunnamede a few minutes now to write down what “success” looks like to you. It’s important to become very clear about your own personal definition, so that society doesn’t try to define it for you.

If you’re looking for some inspiration, here is my personal definition of success, as of March 2015. This particular list is focused more on business and monetary success.

~ I make plenty of money every month, and that amount is likely to change, depending on my needs and desires.

~ I never have to check my bank account to make sure that I have enough money to go to the grocery store.

~ I travel at least one week out of every month, 12 months a year.

~ I often relocate for 1-3 months at a time, in other locations around the  world. I continue to run my business from abroad.

unnamed (1)~ I am hired as a speaker internationally, and flown to locations throughout the world to give keynote speeches and to teach.

~ Several of my favorite authors and teachers are friends on a first-name basis.

~ My refrigerator is always full of delicious ingredients.

~ I can buy a piece of clothing whenever I find an item that appeals to me. It could be a $150 winter coat, or a $10 shirt.

~ I have accumulated plenty of extra funds, which means that buying a $1500 training program and a $1500 laptop in one week is not a financial stress.

~ I donate money if my intuition tells me to.

~ I am able to buy my friends and family plane tickets so that I can take them to countries we’ve both never been to.
