All day long, I have been preparing my environment for success.

Sometimes when I return from traveling, I jump back into work right away, without a lot of time for me in between. Instead, I spent the day rearranging my physical environment in various ways, and also creating an internal environment (the way I feel) that is based on leisure and pleasure.

The right kind of environment always seems to lead to more opportunities for fun, friendly interactions, and creating money. (And one of my favorite things is to constantly experiment with making money in ways that feel like bliss.)

Fruit Compote and Vanilla Nut Cream~ I spent the first part of the morning baking cinnamon apples, and then listened to a class on Shamanism that Rose Cole was leading ..because I believe in magical things, coincidences, communicating through the dream world, and energy healing.

~ I restocked my refrigerator with everything from pomegranates to cantaloupe, and artichokes to pizza ingredients.

~ I soaked up the heat of the fall sun while eating a delicious and filling afternoon meal.

~ OneRebublic’s new song, “Future Looks Good” was the song I listened to over and over again.

~ I composted all of the flowers in the house that were past their prime, and remade bouquets with the flowers that are still blooming.

~ I scrubbed the toilet (I actually really like scrubbing toilets)

~ We also have a heavy storm approaching Washington State, so it was fun to prepare for a “slumber party weekend” by filling bottles with extra water, buying groceries, gassing up the car, and washing and drying all of my favorite cozy clothes.

So you might be wondering: “Ava, how’s preparing an environment for success working for you so far?”

My answer: I feel calm and fully supported in all ways (financially, through delicious food, and through friendships and family). I received word of more money showing up in my life, and tomorrow, I start working with a new entrepreneurial client. I’m also about to dive into a few weeks of writing my book, A Woman’s Treasure, and am quite excited to be writing in the environment I’ve created.

Is becoming more magnetic something you’ve been curious about? Do you want to be the person who walks into a room and easily magnetizes people, opportunities, and potential clients to you?

If so, here are several ways that you can become more alluring and more magnetic in your business and in your life:

Geneva cobblestone road

1.  Let your personality come through all of your professional projects.  Write your articles with personality, have photos taken that accentuate who you are, and create a business brand that is a blend of the things you love. When your personality is woven into your business, it helps attract clients and colleagues who are a really great match to you.

2.  Be a little mysterious, especially in your marketing.  If you’re working on a long-term project, share little pieces of the project along the way, without giving everything out until you’re ready to unveil the final project. Hint at what your audience can expect next.

You’ve likely noticed that I’ve been sharing little aspects about the book I’m writing, like some of the content, and working title (A Woman’s Treasure: Grow A Business Where Making Money Feels Like Bliss), long before the book itself is published and available for sale. You can do the same thing in your own marketing, and when you do, it will give your audience something to look forward to.

3.  Activate a more alluring and attractive energy. There is this thing that I have been practicing with my own energy for about 12 years now, and though it’s hard to exactly describe what it is, I feel that’s it’s been an important part of drawing in business opportunities, along with many personal opportunities.

I’m writing about this energy more extensively in my book, so you’ll have a chance to go even deeper into this at a later time. For now, I’ll do all that I can to describe how this energy feels. It’s like sending out a blanket of love to the people around me, while also feeling more confident within myself. When I activate this part of my energy, I feel as though I am floating and gliding through life. I feel more graceful, and elegant. My jaw relaxes, while the rest of my body becomes taller.

This energy can be used in several situations, and I’ll sometimes activate it if I am feeling protective of myself, like when I’m near a person who makes me a little uncomfortable or cautious. I also activate it when I am feeling open and receptive to meeting new people, and being involved in new opportunities. Even when I was romantically single, I would use this energy to catch the attention of men who I thought were cute. As you can see, it works on many levels.

There is also another side to being magnetic, which is about gently repelling what you do not want. I believe that it’s just as important to use this aspect of your magnetism. Otherwise, you may end up stuck with an overburdening amount of business projects, or clients who you don’t feel aligned with. Work becomes a chore if you say yes to everything, and if you go against your intuition and make business decisions that don’t feel right to you.

One way that I gently and purposefully repel people is by being very clear about my ideal clients in my website and marketing materials.  Here is a description about who I believe are my ideal, as well as my non-ideal, clients:

Ava on boat with scarf“I choose to work with clients who are dedicated, ready, and extremely excited to receive the amazing professional and personal rewards that are waiting for them.

I find that this type of person makes the swiftest progress. Our decision to work together must come from a place of happiness, and I trust you to notice if we are a great fit. Please watch a few of my videos to see who I am.

Because I am dedicated to supporting the clients who are a divine match in this coaching relationship, I do not work with everyone who requests to work with me.

Here’s how you’ll know if you are an ideal client:

~ You love to laugh, and approach all of our appointments with a positive mindset.

~ The way we met unmistakably guided you to me. You may have asked for more clarity and direction in your business, or a coach, and then we were brought together.

~ You are spiritual, but you are still playing in some mass consciousness mentality. You’re often getting dragged into overwork, and you know this isn’t going to keep you happy in the long run.

~ You pay your payments on time, and feel pleasure when you pay them.

~ You hold to your commitments, because you know that if you stop halfway through, it allows others in your life to back out of their commitments to you.

~ You don’t want your life or business to be a cookie-cutter clone of everyone else. You know there is more out there, and you are ready to be unique.

~ You are open to coaching and suggestions that may move you outside of your comfort zone.

~ You are ready to grow.

~ You wish that you had more time for yourself and your personal growth.

~ You are ready to be adventurous. For you, this may mean more opportunities to travel. You are also ready to be more adventurous in your business, and step into the vision you’ve been dreaming about.

I am very particular about the clients I choose to work with privately, and I’ve noticed that non-ideal clients usually share a set of common traits.

Non-ideal clients who are not a match for my support tend to:

~ Complain about the “bad economy,” and make excuses that keep them from getting things done.

~ Blame others for their problems, without taking personal responsibility.

~ Don’t do their homework and the tasks that they are asked to do.

Now that we’ve explored becoming more magnetic, I hope that you’ll use some of these ideas to attract what you desire, and to repel any opportunities that don’t feel like a good fit for you.

why i quit

Earlier this week, I went out on a quick road trip to Eastern Washington with my Mom.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who are mothering, in every sense of the word. Whether you are a mother to an animal or a human child, the nurturer of a project or idea, or a momma duck figure in any way, I hope you enjoy this day.

I’ve been on my home Island for a few days now, taking care of some business, taking client calls in thespringtime sun, organizing details for my high school reunion, and seeing plenty of old and new friends. My Mom and I have also spent quite a bit of time together in the past few days.

While visiting my childhood home, it’s been particularly interesting to see people who I haven’t seen for years. Within a time span of about 5 minutes in a store aisle, we do our best to catch up, and swap a few stories about our lives. In that conversation, I usually mention the first evolution of my business, my former nutrition company, as well as tell them about the work I’m currently doing. It made me think back to how much thought went into that business transition several years ago. Many of you are in your own transitions right now, and I thought it would be interesting to share a little more about why I quit my first business.

Here’s a hint: It had something to do with falling in love.

Enjoy,

Many of you have asked about the legalities of doing business (like contracts, disclaimers, and how to create a solid legal foundation for your business.)

I’m not a lawyer, so I haven’t been able to answer those questions, but I have a friend who CAN!

Genavieve Shingle Jaffe has a completely free webinar series coming up, called “Cover Your Booty,” where she will cover topics such as client contracts, business formation, privacy policies and more. The webinars begin on May 12th.

I’m a proud affiliate of her programs, and believe that her guidance will give you all of the structures to keep you from worrying about scary (and often expensive) legal mishaps in your business.

Why I quit my first business

For a moment, I want to honor my first business, and also share why I quit it.

In 2009, after several years of training in food science and behavioral medicine, and being certified as a health and nutrition coach at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I opened up a nutrition coaching company based in Olympia, Washington. It had been a passion of mine to teach people about the healing properties of foods, and I immediately began teaching all kinds of classes, and working with private clients.

AvaAtMarlenes

My nutrition company went through many growth phases, as I discovered which topics I most enjoyed. I spent some time offering natural dental care, and support for digestive health. A few years into my career, I settled into a niche that I loved, when I started providing more nutritional support for people who often traveled. During that time, I taught Traveling Healthy in Europe classes for travel television host Rick Steves, and had more and more exciting opportunities to travel for work.

Then something happened:

I fell in love…. with something else….and it was a total surprise.

While I was running my nutrition company, I also started working with about 25 other entrepreneurs behind-the-scenes. Many of them were beginning their service-based businesses, and wished to learn about marketing. I started teaching these entrepreneurs about how I’d been growing my own business, and showed them how I had doubled my income over one year to the next. I also taught them about the marketing processes that I had used as a brand new entrepreneur, which often let me turn total strangers into paying clients in 10 days. During our time working together, these new entrepreneurs experienced many successes. I particularly remember when one of my international clients got on television to talk about her company. That was a huge moment to celebrate.

Naomi Ava Gabrielle

Sharing marketing advice with these entrepreneurs brought me a lot of joy, and I soon felt called to make a professional shift. I began planning to step out of my nutrition company, and into the next evolution of my career. Though I had spent years studying nutrition, my intuition was screaming at me to become a guide in the areas of business, marketing, and money. I can even remember the very last time I taught a cooking class. I was standing at the front of the room, when I realized that I shouldn’t be teaching cooking classes anymore. I became so distracted by this thought that I lost my ability to eloquently speak. I happily never taught another cooking class after that.

As excited as I was to make the switch into this next business evolution, there were also a few growing pains while I dismantled my old career. My energy and focus on my nutrition company started to leak out of it right away. I stopped marketing my nutrition services in the way that I previously had been, and eventually was down to 1 or 2 nutrition clients, with a few entrepreneurs behind-the-scenes. By that time, I’d guided more than 80 entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.

One mistake I made during this transition was that I was charging ridiculously low prices for business mentorship, because I didn’t yet see it as part of my “official business,” and because I didn’t quite understand how valuable it was. That undercharging got me into a bit of trouble, and for a little while between businesses, I sought out food and financial assistance.

It took about 1.5 years to shift out of my nutrition company, and intRide home from photos with KariBo my current business. During that time, I was very grateful for the guidance of several key mentors, who encouraged me to move forward, and to also honor everything that had led up to that point. I kind of always joked that my current business (helping women grow businesses where making money feels like bliss) sort of “ate” my previous nutrition company, because my professional transition didn’t erase all of my nutrition background. Little aspects of my nutrition past became woven into my current business, even though I no longer work with one-on-one clients regarding their nutritional health.

Today, I definitely still geek out on nutrition research at home. Sometimes I’ll give my entrepreneur clients tips on how they can naturally whiten and care for their teeth (It’s particularly important for entrepreneurs who want to be on stage, or even be across the table from a potential client….because bad breath is quite a turnoff in sales). In 30 Days to Release Your Financial Constriction, we have a week devoted to learning about the foods that correspond with healing the energy centers that are related to money, the digestive system, sexuality, and safety. I appreciate how my nutrition background gets to step in during that time. It creates a more holistic approach to business and money.

As you continue through whatever big or small shift/move/evolution/transition that you are in right now, it is my wish that you will find all of the resources you need, and have the bravery to move forward. I hope that you will attract all of the exciting rewards that are waiting to find you.

It’s also okay to let go of old things that aren’t working for you anymore.

It’s not always comfortable, but it’s worth it.

In the United States, we just finished the biggest tax season of the year. It’s likely that many people (perhaps you?) were sitting in a ball of stress earlier this month, as you finished tax details. Sadly, I have watched several businesses implode during tax season. Some entrepreneurs have such a large tax bill that they are stuck choosing between bankruptcy and closing up. Other businesses look over their financial details and must decide if it’s financially feasible to continue running their business.

Even I was a bit stressed before April 15th, as I waited to find out the amount I owed for my tax bill. I’m not sure about you, but I don’t particularly like the unknown…or waiting, especially when I am waiting to find out how much money I need to pay for something. I could feel my stress levels rising as my imagination dreamt up the worst possible scenario.

The sigh of relief occurred when I found out that my tax bill was only $100 more than I guessed it would be, and everything I needed was sitting in the bank.

Writing a check that morning became a ceremonial moment, and as I prepared to send off thousands, I thanked the money for being there for me. Then, as I walked a few hundred feet to the mailbox to deposit my payment, I felt beauty all around me. The DSCN1670blossoms on the springtime trees were glowing in the sunlight. I felt a sense of contentment. I was about to send this money out with love, and it literally felt blissful. (By the way, sending money out with love is a very important habit to establish if you want to make more money in your business. It encourages money to renew itself, which is exactly what happened, when just 2 hours later, I received an email notifying me about a payment that would immediately be coming my way.)

The reason I’m telling you about this is because my response and reactions to money used to be extremely uncomfortable and constricted (and definitely not blissful at all).

I used to often have thoughts like:

“What if my bills are more than I can handle?”

“I have no idea where I’m going to get more money.”

“Will I be able to replenish the money that I just sent out?”

“This feels so unfair ~ Why are other people making good money in their businesses, and not me?”

Over the last few years, I’ve dedicated much of my focus to healing my own money wounds, and releasing financial constriction. I’ve also been guiding my clients to do the same healing work, and they’ve experienced financial miracles ranging from gifts of hundreds to thousands of dollars in unexpected checks, and new clients showing up in miraculous ways.

I’ve also been thinking about how much I want to support you, especially if money has recently felt uncomfortable, or if you’re wondering how to create more income opportunities in your business.

I recently asked myself:

“What do people need most right now to feel financially supported?”

The answer that came to me was:

“More happiness.”

“And training so that they can create more money through their businesses.”

Dance with Wailea lights small copy

The exciting thing is that “more happiness” is the energetic state of being that easily brings financial opportunities. Happiness is also what I’ve relied on over the years to create money in my own business, and happiness comes first when I am helping a client grow their business. After all, making money should feel like bliss.

This is why I’m going to be leading another round of one of my most loved group programs, 30 Days to Release Your Financial Constriction. It’s one of my favorites to take women through, because it’s so much fun. Over the years, group members have excitedly reported results like new clients contacting them right after the first session. One woman had a new romantic relationship begin during our 30 Days, and another woman even received a gift of $5,000!

How I Manifested $880 In One Hour

Hello!

I have an awesome story to share about manifesting $880, but first, I want to thank you again for joining me for “What A Former Poor Girl Learned About Money From Her Wealthy Community”

If you didn’t have a chance to listen, the replay is available through this link:
http://InstantTeleseminar.com/?eventID=47584560

Be sure to listen to this TODAY, especially if you are eying a spot in 30 Days to Release Your Financial Constriction!

OK.

On to the story.

Several months ago, I was sitting at my computer,  getting a little resentful and frustrated over an amount of several Moody photo for release Financial constrictionthousand dollars that I had committed to pay that day.

This payment was for something I deeply desired, but on that day, I was letting myself turn into a victim. I didn’t yet have all of the money available, and I was playing stories in my head about how unfair it was that I had to pay the bill. The amount also felt huge to me, and I was in a really bad mood over it.

As much as I wanted to keep complaining to myself, I also knew that this attitude would get me nowhere.

So here’s what I did:

I prepared an electronic payment for as much of the bill as I could cover with the money I had. Before I pressed send, I spent a few minutes writing down all of the good things that my money would bring the person I was paying. I got really detailed, and even thought about all of the other people who would be supported as the money circulated through us and way beyond this one transaction. I then sent that partial payment out with gratitude and happiness.

1 hour later, an $880 sale came in for a group program I was offering at the time!

That breezy $880 came right into my life and embraced my good mood, and I immediately used it to cover the rest of the payment that was due that day.

Ava with hundredsIt was THAT easy!

Poster for 30days to release FinConst Autumn2013

Here are some words of success from clients who have released their financial constriction through my groups and coaching:

“One little Ava-ism completely re-framed a negative belief I had in my business and also gave me a record breaking $2323 day.”

“I now have double bookings on some nights and I already have some clients booking months in advance.”

“Changing your alignment and energy surrounding money can work WONDERS for wealth! I have two semi-unexpected checks in the mail now and I really believe a big reason is because of my new alignment and energy around money! “

And one member of the 30 Days to Release Your Financial Constriction group found something just as good as surprise money….

“The very best thing that has come out of this 30 Days is a wonderful man that came into my life.”

One of the words that has come up in many recent conversations with clients and colleagues is the word “magic.” We are literally at a point where we can create huge magic in our lives.

In first grade, I remember hearing a story from a grown-up guest. She told us about an experience she had overseas where a man created a hat for her out of thin air, right in front of her eyes. I believed it when I was 6 years old. Then as I grew older, into my teens, I stopped believing that things like that were possible

While I haven’t actually seen a hat materialize out of thin air, I have had coincidences occur in my life that continue to affirm how magical this world really is. I believe in magic once again.

Many of our mental requests can come true seconds or minutes after making them. Just the other day, some outside construction noise was brought to a stop right after I had been silently wondering if it would cease before a phone call with a client. It stopped.

photo in Berne, Switzerland

I meet most of my clients when I’m out having fun at open houses, classes, events, speaking engagements, and social dinners. Rarely do I find a new client by making a cold call to a stranger. (I hope this example gives you permission to have more fun in your business, too.)

Without telling him, my sweet man knows exactly what gifts to leave in my room on afternoons that I return from days of traveling. It’s usually the food item that I was craving earlier on that same day.

I have read accounts of people living well past 100 years old, and people who have had multiple sets of teeth grow in during their long life. Physical miracles take place all the time. Did you know that tooth structure can be renewed!? As a child, I was taught that this was not possible, but it is when you eat a certain way, and once you know that it actually is possible.

I hope that you’ve been experiencing your own magical coincidences lately, and now that we’re talking about them, expect even more opportunities to see magic in your world.

Last October, halfway through the 30 Days of Wonderful™ program I led for women, I received an exciting opportunity to travel and teach. It was in such a young stage at that point, that I couldn’t even tell you about it. I wanted to be sure it would come to fruition. Now, several months later, I’m getting ready to officially announce the event I’ll be leading in September of 2013.

The thing I couldn’t help but notice was that this travel and teaching opportunity showed up as I was giving myself all of the luxurious care, rest, and nutritious food that I required. If you’ve read my newsletters, you’ve probably heard of the 30 Days of Wonderful™ group program that I led several times in 2012. It was a chance for women to focus on what feels good first, the foods that feel best in their bodies, and the environments that truly nourish them.

All of those things then became the fuel that pulled big opportunities to these women.

~ Travel opportunities

~ Renewed romance or new romance

~ The release of chronic health concerns

~ Happiness

~ New ideal clients

~ Business opportunities

~ Less overwhelm and stress

~ Surprise income

In February, I’m about to focus in on one of the greatest results from 30 Days of Wonderful™ in a brand new group program that will support women to release financial constriction in their lives.

I’d love to tell you more in a complimentary training call I’m hosting on Valentine’s Day.

It’s called

Release Your Financial Constriction in 4 Steps:

How to Remove Your Biggest Income Obstacles

by Opening Up to Healthy Pleasure in Your Life”

 Thursday, February 14, 2013

Learn more about the 30 Days to Release Financial Constriction Program

On this free training call, I’ll be sharing 4 steps to assist you in releasing financial restriction:

1. First, we’ll identify where you constrict yourself in health, life, business, and love. When you understand how these same patterns show up in your finances, you can release those patterns, which are currently holding money and opportunities far from you.

2. Learn why using a concept called “vibrational marketing” will allow you to work less, and receive more than you ever have before. This is the reason I gift myself with travel opportunities several times each year.

3. Set up and deeply trust in a law of prosperity that will let you easily receive the money that’s on the way to you now.

4. Be paid for what you are most passionate about. After years of blending my own passions, I’ve created a business built on my love of nutrition, marketing, personal and business development, world travel, and Europe. It works, and I’ll show you how.

I’ll also share:

~Details about the upcoming 30 Days to Release Your Financial Constriction group program for women (it’s online, so any woman in the world can be part of this)
~ And of course, I’ll share the big business opportunity that fell into my lap the last time I enjoyed a month of doing what felt wonderful, and following the steps I’m sharing on this training call.

Several years ago, I took an entire month off. I gave myself 3 simple guidelines, and then enjoyed a month of relaxation. Some amazing rewards are waiting for you, if you decide to unplug, slow down, and stop.
